Craft in Bloom, Nov. 1-3, 2019
Swans in Upper Porter Pond at D.W. Field Park may have been the first to greet those attending Craft in Bloom at the Fuller Craft Museum on the second day of the three-day event, Nov. 1-3. Brockton Garden Club and the Fuller Craft Museum joined in hosting the event, held during the 90th Anniversary of the Garden Club and the Fuller's celebration of its 50th anniversary, "Striking Gold, Fuller at Fifty." Craft in Bloom displayed 16 floral interpretations by Brockton Garden Club and neighboring club members of 16 art works in the Striking Gold exhibit. On Saturday, beautiful acoustical guitar music played in the background, provided by John Tolias of Southeast School of Music. Craft in Bloom also featured three speakers during the weekend: Paul F. Split, designer and presenter of green workshops; Charles "Chuck" Doughty, local nursery owner and program director at Northeastern working to accredit an arboretum on the main Boston campus, and Shirley Asack-Younes, designer and owner of POSH flowers, a studio-based custom event planning and flora decor business in Brockton. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to put together this 2019 Craft in Bloom exhibit. (Photos by Janet Trask and Cindy Myers)
